I'm Zaneta, and I'm the heart behind Nak Muay Media.
I've always been hesitant to call myself a Nak Muay, because even though I do study and practice Muay Thai, I felt like I hadn't earned that title. Even though I have one competition under my belt, it still didn't feel like I'd joined the ranks of the greats with that title. Even though I began coaching at a beginner level, it didn't feel like I knew enough to give myself that title.
So if I don't even feel confident to call myself a Nak Muay, why would I have the audacity to call my business Nak Muay Media?
Nak Muay in its simplest term means "fighter." In this one term, I wanted to honor my sport that has done so much for me, but also honor the fighters of all practices.
Even though Nak Muay is a term from Muay Thai, I want all forms of fighters to be highlighted and celebrated. Whether the focus is striking, or grappling, or a combination, there's a commonality between all fighters that can't be understood unless you are a fighter. There's a common heart, a common determination, a common fight within each fighter that is a constant struggle and overcome, and there's also a common crazy that's understood where these athletes enjoy getting punched or folded up.
So, welcome to Nak Muay Media. Every drop of blood and sweat has brought you to the mat or the ring or the cage, and every drop of blood and sweat has brought me to my camera and together we're going to capture and celebrate the moment where every drop of sacrifice turns into strength and victory.
